# Cover

The Publication cover is a native Ghost feature used to represent your site visually. By default, it is used as the Open Graph image when your site is shared on social media. In this theme, the publication cover is also displayed as the The Publication Cover is a native Ghost feature that represents your site visually. In Aura, it is used as the background image for the [**Subscribe Section**](/docs/aura/customization/homepage/subscribe.md), with the section's text displayed over the image to create an engaging visual experience.

By default, Ghost also uses the publication cover as the Open Graph image when your site is shared on social media.

### Step-by-step:

Go to the "**Design & branding**" settings in Ghost Admin and click "**Customize**".

Under "**Publication cover**", click "**Upload cover**" and select your file.

Click "**Save**" to apply the changes.

### Custom Image for Social Media

Your publication cover will continue to appear as the background of the Subscribe Section, while the custom image will be used for the corresponding social sharing metadata.

#### Step-by-step:
