# Hero

The Hero section defines the main introductory area at the top of your homepage. With Aura, you can choose which elements to display, including a headline, a subscribe section, and featured post cards. Customize the title and description to create a welcoming first impression and introduce your publication.

### Step-by-step:

Go to the "**Design & branding**" settings in Ghost Admin and click "**Customize**".

Under the **Homepage** section and locate "**Hero style**".

Select the elements you want to display, such as Headline / Subscribe / Featured.

Enter your custom **title** and **description**.

Click "**Save**" to apply the changes.

### Available Options

* **Hero style:** Defines the layout and content displayed in the hero section of your homepage.
  * *Default: Headline / Subscribe / Featured*
* **Title:** The main heading displayed in your homepage hero.
  * *Default: Hello, welcome to \[Site title]*
* **Description:** The text displayed below the title.
  * *Default: The site description from your General settings.*
* **Featured:** Displays up to three featured post cards on the homepage. By default, Aura displays posts marked as featured in Ghost. You can also choose the posts manually using the internal tag `#fixed-featured`.
  * *Default: The most recently published featured posts.*

### Manually Selecting Featured Posts

To choose which posts appear in the Featured section, add the internal tag `#fixed-featured` to each post you want to display.

#### Step-by-step

Open the post in Ghost Admin.

In the post settings, add `#fixed-featured` as an internal tag.

Save or update the post.

When at least one post has the `#fixed-featured` tag, Aura displays posts with this tag instead of automatically selecting posts marked as featured in Ghost.

**Important:** If you want to display three cards, add `#fixed-featured` to all three posts. Aura does not automatically fill any remaining slots with other featured posts.

### Visibility rules

The subscription button will be hidden when Portal is disabled, when a member is logged in, or when the "Invite only" option is enabled.
