# Cover

The **Publication cover** is a native Ghost feature used to visually represent your site in different ways.

By default, it appears as the **Open Graph** image (`og:image`) when your site is shared on social media.

In this theme, the publication cover is also displayed as the [hero section](https://pinathemes.gitbook.io/docs/fancy/customization/homepage/hero).

To upload or change the cover image:

#### Access Ghost Admin

* Log in to your Ghost Admin at `yoursite.com/ghost`

#### Go to Brand Settings

* Navigate to **Settings** > **Site** > **Design & branding** `yoursite.com/ghost/#/settings/design`
* Click the **"Customize"** button to open the editor.

#### Upload Your Cover

* Under **Publication cover**, click **"Upload cover"** and select your file.

#### Save Changes

* Click **"Save"** to apply your cover to the site.

### Custom Image for Social Media

If you prefer using a different image for social sharing instead of the publication cover, you can set a custom image for each platform.

In Ghost Admin, go to **General settings > Meta data** and click under the **X card** or **Facebook card** section. There, you can upload a custom image that will be used when your site is shared on those platforms.

Don’t forget to save your changes.
