# Hero

This section defines the main introduction area at the top of your homepage. It allows you to welcome visitors and briefly describe what your site is about. The image used is the **cover image**. You can customize the **Title**, **Description**, and **decide whether to display the social icons** (which are added in the [secondary navigation](/docs/fancy/basic-settings/social-links.md)) to create a strong first impression.

Follow the steps below to access the Hero settings:

### Access Ghost Admin

* Log in to your Ghost Admin at `yoursite.com/ghost`

### Navigate to Design Settings

* Go to **Settings** > **Site** > **Design & branding** `yoursite.com/ghost/#/settings/design`
* Click the **"Customize"** button to open the theme editor.

### Open Theme Settings

* Locate the **Hero** options under the **Homepage** section.

## Available Options

* **Image** — The main visual element of your homepage. *Default:* Publication cover image.
* **Title** — The main heading text of your homepage. *Default:* Hello, welcome to \[site title]
* **Description** — The description displayed below the title. *Default:* Site description (from *General settings > Title & description > Site description*)
* **Social icons** — social links that are added in secondary navigation. *Default:* Title/Description/Social
